The Seattle Seahawks coming off their bye week will travel to the Dallas Cowboys in an NFL game on Sunday afternoon. Kick off time in Dallas is set for 1PM Eastern Time with regional television coverage provided by Fox. The LVSC NFL odds makers have set the opening point spread in this game and the Dallas Cowboys opened as a 7 ½ point favorite with the over under coming in at 45 ½. The early money from the NFL betting public has come in on the favorite, as the Dallas Cowboys are currently a 10-point favorite. The total has seen betting action early to the over, as the over under is currently lined at 46. NFL money line gamblers who would like to make a play on the favored Dallas Cowboys will find them lined at –425 with the road underdog Seattle Seahawks returning +355 to pull off the upset victory without the point spread a factor in the bet.
Dallas came off their bye and put on their most impressive performance of the season beating a good Atlanta Falcons team 37-21 last week. Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo was very accurate passing the football hitting on 21 of 29 for 311 yards and three touchdown passes and no interceptions. Romo has now passed for over 300 yards and no interceptions in his past 2 games. This is due in part to wide receiver Miles Austin who has exploded onto the scene with 16 catches and 4 touchdowns with 421 yards in his past two games. Heading into the team’s week 5 meeting with Kansas City Austin had only 5 receptions all season. Austin is now Tony Romo’s go to guy in the passing game, as the young wide out has finally developed now in his 4th year. With Terrell Owens now a non factor in the league the Cowboys now look good for releasing T.O. now that he is being single covered by opposing defenses and still cant get open for passes. Owner Jerry Jones deserves credit for letting go of Terrell Owens at the right time. The Cowboys defense put on a tremendous performance with 4 sacks on Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan and forcing 3 turnovers. The Cowboys secondary did a much better job of being aggressive and tackling last week and we will see if it remains a constant with this unit. Seattle is coming off their bye week with a 2-4 record and already 2 games behind first place Arizona in the NFC West. They are losers of 4 of their last 5 games and were embarrassed by the Arizona Cardinals last time out 27-3 with only 14 yards rushing and 114 through the air. Seahawks quarterback Matt Hasselbeck is hitting on 55% of his passes with 7 touchdowns and 3 interceptions on the season. Hasselbeck is not getting much support from his running game as the unit produces just 3.5 yards per carry on the season. This has contributed to just a 36% conversion rate for the Seahawks on third downs. The Seahawks will need good protection on Sunday as the Cowboys showed a fierce pass rush last week. Seahawks quarterbacks have been sacked 15 times in 6 games on the season. The Seahawks secondary had major problems against the two good passing teams on their schedule as Indianapolis threw for 353 yards and the Cardinals 282. Expect Tony Romo to look to exploit the Seahawks with throws down field.
