Sports Betting at the Sportsbook

The Indianapolis Colts enters this game with the winless St Louis Rams a perfect 5-0 on the season. Peyton Manning has been on target with his receiving corps just knifing through opposing secondaries to the tune of a 73.5% completion percentage with 12 touchdowns and 4 interceptions. He has passed for over 300 yards in every game this season and will play against a very weak defense in the Rams. The Rams give up an average of 252 yards through the air and give up an average of 37 points per game in their 2 home games this season. In the Rams two home games they have been no closer than 19 points by the end of 60 minutes. The Rams pass defense allows 12.0 yards per completion and their secondary will be extremely tested against the Colts wide receiver spread set. The Colts have played well against the pass this season allowing just 192 yards per game and an NFL best 8.0 yards per completion average. Rams starting quarterback Marc Bulger is hitting on 58% of is passes with 3 touchdowns and 1 interception. The Rams have injury concerns at wide receiver position, which has resulted in a 33% conversion rate of third downs. Steven Jackson has been a workhorse this season with 120 rushes for 501 yards and 4.2 yards per play average. In their loss last week to Jacksonville the Jaguars had 166 yards rushing and 326 passing Had it not been for 3 Jaguars turnovers the margin of the Jacksonville’s victory would be greater.

Tony T’s Opinion: I cannot play the Rams in this spot. Peyton Manning will exploit this poor Rams secondary. For Steven Jackson to be relevant in this game the Rams have to play a close game and that does not appear to be possible based on how poorly the Rams defense have played. The Rams cant match scores with Indy because the Colts play good pass defense. If this game makes my card I would be on the Indy side.
