The BYU Cougars bounced back nicely off their loss on September 19th to Florida St by beating Mountain West rival the Colorado St Rams 42-23 last week. BYU started fast by opening up 21-0 after the first quarter. Quarterback Max Hall hit on 18 of 29 for 241 yards two touchdowns but two interceptions last week. But the Cougars allowed tons of yardage to Colorado St last week as the Rams gained 438 yards on the Cougar defense. Rams starting quarterback Stucker hit on 30 of 50 on the BYU defense for 372 yards and two touchdowns. A concern for senior quarterback Max Hall is the fact he has thrown for 8 interceptions thus far in 4 games this season. The Cougars running back Harvey Unga is gaining 6.5 yards per carry on the season. Utah St enters the season with a 1-2 record this season. In their games against high profile schools the Aggies fell at Utah 35-17 and at Texas A&M 38-30. Junior quarterback Diondre Borel hit on just 38% of his passes to Utah and 51% to Texas A&M. Borel against the two high profile programs has 1 passing touchdown and an interception. Borel passed for 334 yards at Texas A&M. Sophomore running back Robert Turbin has ran wild this season for 11.4 yards per carry average in 13 attempts against Utah and 9.3 yards per carry average in 13 attempts against Texas A&M. Turbin has been a pleasant surprise on the season for the Aggies. The Aggies defense has been atrocious as usual as the team is giving up an average of 196 yards on the ground and 290 through the air for 486 yards total on the season.
