The Oklahoma Sooners from the Big 12 conference will travel to face the Miami Hurricanes from the ACC Conference in a college football game in prime time on Saturday Night. Kick off time in Miami is set for 8PM Eastern Time with national television coverage provided by ABC. The Sooners will need to run effectively to take pressure off their freshman quarterback or returning quarterback on Saturday. With only 1 returning starter back on the offensive line pass protection will be key for the Sooners success at Miami. Oklahoma’s defense has been outstanding allowing opponents only 13 points on the season and shutting out an explosive offense from Conference USA Tulsa last week. The Miami Hurricanes had problems last week in their loss at Virginia Tech against a strong defensive team. Hurricanes starting quarterback Jacory Harris against Virginia Tech was just 9 of 25 for 150 yards with no touchdowns and 1 interception. The Hurricanes will need to run better in this game as the team netted just a 1.7 yards per carry average in their 31-7 loss last week. Oklahoma is very good against the run as they allow their opponents just 40 rushing yards per game. With a bad running game last week Miami was just 1 of 11 on third down conversions. Miami has given up points this season on defense as their opponents are averaging 27.3 points per game against them.
