Rookie first round draft pick Mark Sanchez will start for the Jets under center and will make his debut. Sanchez had a good preseason showcasing good arm strength and poise under pressure. Sanchez has a good and experienced offensive line protecting him and two solid running backs in Thomas Jones and Leon Washington. Out wide for the Jets will be Jerricho Cotchery and Chasi Stuckey with David Clowny in on three wide sets. Rex Ryan former defensive coordinator of the Baltimore Ravens is the new head coach for the Jets. The Jets did very well against the run in 2008 allowing only 94.9 yards per game. On the Houston Texans side Matt Schaub will start under center. The Texans were explosive on offense passing for an average of 266 yards per game a year ago. Schaub has one of the best receivers in the league in Andre Johnson who had 103 receptions for 1147 yards and 5 touchdowns in 2008. Steve Slaton and Ryan Moats will run the ball for the Texans who did a much better job on the ground last season averaging 115 yards per game. The big weakness on the field will be the Texans defense and specifically an extremely weak secondary. The Texans did very little to upgrade this poor unit this season and is coming off a year where they gave up an average of 24.6 points per game last year.
