The 135th running of the Kentucky Derby is this Saturday from Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky. 20 Three Year Old Colts have been entered for horse racings Run for the Roses. Post time Saturday is at 6:24PM Eastern Time with NBC providing the National Television Coverage. Here is a look at the 20 thoroughbred horses entered into the 2009 Kentucky Derby horse race with their morning line track odds. I Want Revenge has been listed at the 3-1 morning line favorite for the first jewel of horse racings triple crown.

In post position number 1 will be West Side Bernie. West Side Bernie is lined at 30-1 and is ridden by Stewart Elliot. West Side Bernie has ridden in 2 Grade 1 races finishing 6th by 3 lengths as a 2 year old in the Breeders Cup Juvenile and was second by a length and a half to the morning line favorite I Want Revenge in the Wood Memorial. West Side Bernie’s highest ever Beyer rating was in the Wood Memorial finishing with a 101 Beyer.

From the second hole will be Musket Man. Musket Man is 20-1 in the morning line and will be ridden by Eibar Coa. Musket Man has no Grade 1 races and his highest Beyer rating was 98 in his first place finish in the Illinois Derby. Musket Man has won 5 of 6 races.

Running from post position #3 will be Mr. Hot Stuff. Ridden by John Velasquez Mr. Hot Stuff is 30-1 in the morning line. Mr. Hot Stuff has 1 Grade 1 race on his ledger finishing 3rd by two lengths in the Santa Anita Derby to Pioneer of the Nile. Mr. Hot Stuff posted a 93 Beyer in his last raced which was the Santa Anita Derby and his lifetime best Beyer was a 96 when he broke his maiden back on February 1st at Santa Anita.

Out of the four spot will be Advice. Ridden by Rene Douglass Advice is 30-1 in the morning line. The three year old colt has raced in 1 Grade 1 race and was a distance 9th in last years Breeders Futurity at Keenland as a 2 year old. Advice posted his highest Beyer a 94 in his last race finishing 1st in the Lexington back on April 18th.

Breaking from the 5th position will be Hold Me Back. Hold Me Back will be ridden by former Kentucky Derby winning jockey Kent Desormeaux. Hold Me Back is 15-1 in the morning line. He has 1 Grade 1 performance finishing 2nd in the Blue Grass Stakes in his last race out. His highest ever Beyer was a 97 in his first place finish at the Lanes End back on March 2nd.

The 6 horse will be Friesan Fire ridden by Gabriel Saez. Friesan Fire is 5-1 in the betting and has no Grade 1 races to his ledger. Friesan Fire has won all of his races in 2009 and is coming off a 1st place finish at the Louisiana Derby ran at Fairgrounds. Friesan Fire posted his highest ever Beyer at the Louisiana Derby putting up a 104. Friesan Fire’s 104 Beyer was posted on a Wet track and is the third highest in this years Kentucky Derby field.

Papa Clem will be the #7 horse. Papa Clem is ridden by Rafael Bejarano and is lined in the morning as 20-1 in the field. If the track comes up wet for the Derby Papa Clem posted a 91 Beyer on a wet track on March 14th at the Louisiana Derby.

Firing from the 8th position will be Mine That Bird. The three-year-old colt will be ridden by Calvin Borel and is a 50-1 longshot on the morning line. Mine That Bird has a 12th place finish in his only Grade 1 performance, which was the Breeders Cup Juvenile back on October 25th. Mine That Bird’s highest ever Beyer was an 81 at Sunland Park back on February 28th.

Racing with saddle cloth number 9 will be Join in the Dance. Ridden by Chris DeCarlo Join in The Dance is a 50-1 longshot in the Kentucky Derby. Join in The Dance has 1 Grade 1 race to his credit and it was his last race finishing 5th in the Blue Grass Stakes back on April 11th. The colts highest ever Beyer was a 90 in his second place finish in the Tampa Bay Derby on March 14th.

From post position #10 will run Regal Ransom. Regal Ransom will be ridden by Alan Garcia in the Kentucky Derby. The three year old is 30-1 on the betting board. Regal Ransom has no Grade 1 performances and is coming off a victory at the UAE Derby in Dubai back on March 28th.

Wearing saddlecloth #11 in the 2009 Kentucky Derby will be Chocolate Candy. Ridden by Mike Smith Chocolate Candy is 20-1 in the betting. The colt has 2 lifetime Grade 1 performances and is coming off a second place finish in the Grade 1 Santa Anita Derby back on April 4th. His other Grade 1 race was a 3rd place finish in the Cash Call Futurity back on December 20th at Hollywood Park. Chocolate Candy’s best ever Beyer was a 94 in his Santa Anita Derby performance.

In the 12th position running for the roses will be General Quarters. Ridden by Julien Leparoux the three year old colt is 20-1 on the morning line. General Quarters has raced 1 Grade 1 race coming off a 1st place performance in his last race at the Blue Grass Stakes on April 11th at Keenland. His best ever Beyer performance was an impressive 102 at the Sam Davis at Tampa back on February 14th.

The 13 horse in this years Kentucky Derby will be I Want Revenge. Joe Talamo will ride I Want Revenge and is the Kentucky Derby morning line favorite at 3-1. I Want Revenge has raced in 2 Grade 1’s producing a 1st place finish in his last effort at the Wood Memorial on April 4th. He ran second to Pioneer of the Nile at the Grade 1 Cash Call Futurity at Hollywood Park on December 20th. I Want Revenge best ever Beyer was a 113 at the Gotham Stakes at Aqueduct back on March 7th leading up to his race at the Wood Memorial. I Want Revenge has produced the highest Beyer rating in the field posting a 113 on the dirt surface of Aqueduct back at the Gotham back on March 7th.

Out of the 14th position will be Atomic Rain. Veteran jockey Joe Bravo will ride Atomic Rain. Atomic Rain is a 50-1 longshot in the Running for the Roses. Atomic Rain has 1 Grade 1 race to his credit finishing 4th back on April 4th at the Wood Memorial. His best ever Beyer as a 95 at the Wood.

Dunkirk will be breaking from the 15th hole in the 135th Kentucky Derby. The lightly raced colt has only 3 races in his career and will be ridden by Edgar Prado. Dunkirk is second favorite on the morning line at 4-1 in the betting. Dunkirk has 1 Grade 1 race finishing second in the Florida Derby as an even money favorite on March 28th. Dunkirk’s best ever Beyer was a 108 at the Florida Derby. His 108 on the dirt surface at Gulfstream Park was the second highest in the Kentucky Derby field.

With the #16 saddlecloth will be Pioneer of the Nile. Pioneer of the Nile is the second favorite in the morning line at 4-1. Pioneer of the Nile will be ridden by Garret Gomez and trained by former Kentucky Derby winning trainer Bob Baffert. Pioneer of the Nile is an experience colt in big races running in 4 Grade 1 races leading up to the Derby. Pioneer of the Nile is coming off a 1st place performance in his last race at the Santa Anita Derby on April 4th. Pioneer of the Nile finished 1st in the Grade 1 Cash Call Futurity, a 5th in the Grade 1 Breeders Cup Juvenile and a 3rd in the Breeders Futurity. Pioneer of the Nile’s best ever Beyer was a 96 at the Santa Anita Derby.

Summer Bird will be the racehorse breaking from postposition #17. Summer Bird is 50-1 on the morning line and will be ridden by Chris Rosier. Summer Bird has no Grade 1 performances and his best ever Beyer was a 98 at his last race in his 3rd place finish in the Arkansas Derby.

Breaking the gate wearing #18 cloth will be the 3-year-old colt Nowhere to Hide. Nowhere to Hide is trained by Nick Zito and will be ridden by Shaun Bridgmohan. Nowhere to Hide is a 50-1 morning line longshot in the betting. Nowhere to Hide has no Grade 1 races and his best ever Beyer was a 90 posted at the Risen Star back on February 7th at Fair Grounds.

Desert Party will be running as the 19 horse in the Kentucky Derby. Desert Party is 15-1 on the morning line and is ridden by Ramon Dominguez. Desert Party has 1 Grade 1 race finishing 6th in the Hopeful Stakes on September 1st of last year at Saratoga. Desert Party’s last three races were in Dubai winning 2 and running second once to Regal Ransom.

Drawing the widest trip in the 2009 Kentucky Derby and wearing #20 will be Flying Private. Flying Private is a 50-1 longshot on the morning line. Flying Pirate will be ridden by Robbie Albarado. The three year old colt as no Grade 1 races and his best ever Beyer rating was a 94 in his second place finish at the Lane’s End back on March 2nd.
